“Most people overestimate what they can accomplish in a year, and underestimate what they can accomplish in a decade” ~Tony Robbins
Most of us procrastinate, because we think we need a lot of free time or we wait for that perfect day when we’ll wake up feeling motivated to make it happen. In order to be successful, you don’t need tons of free time, or to wake up one day feeling motivated to accomplish your goal. I know what you might be thinking – How can I accomplish my goals without more free time in my busy schedule?
Here’s what I do… Instead of looking to find those few hours in the day where I just focus on my goal, I started doing a little bit every day. If you break down a massive goal into small daily steps, it feels more achievable and realistic to accomplish. Try not to focus on such big ideas you may devise in your year-end resolutions and then beat yourself up when you don’t hit that goal, instead, set long-term goals. Then focus each and every day on doing ONE THING towards your goal.
By taking a bite of your goal each day, you actually gain more confidence and belief that you can accomplish the goal. It also becomes more enjoyable. That feeling makes you want to spend more time working hard on your daily steps that will help you succeed.
You can use this philosophy to get in the best shape of your life, star in a new project, improve your finances, or anything you set out to achieve. Rome wasn’t built overnight, neither are our goals.
